I've seen all of Puffy's previous videos (I think!) and really enjoyed them. I'm really looking forward to seeing this one. At $50 (!) I may have to wait awhile so I appreciate your review. I also appreciate reading comments from a fan older than 18 and able to put a grammatical sentence together. The fact is, this group's appeal really does span age groups. I'm a good deal older than you are but I can't get enough of this group. I love 'em!

  2. Thanks puffyphanphil... you know, it's surprising how many people are finding this review, and the others here... I don't post a lot but I try to make em count! I don't have a lot of their other DVD's - only Fun Clips Fun Club - though I've seen clips from the live DVD's and I have the laserdisc(!) version of "Run! Puffy! Run!", their first ever video compilation. I think I can still safely say that this is their best live DVD ever.

I would love to have a DVD from one of their US shows, as they are quite different, but this is still a must-own, especially if you're a real collector. I only wish they'd include a few more extras, as a lot of Japanese bands do - you only ever seem to get the show and a couple backstage clips on any Puffy live DVD, from what I've seen.

I really enjoyed your review! I also own ALMOST all of PUFFY's videos. Instead of buying the DVDs and dealing with the Region-2 Code, I bought all of my videos as VHS and VCDs. I also bought Jet Special and Fever Special. They have many videos that not many people today have seen. Yeah, I'm a REAL COLLECTOR. Anyway, I haven't seen all of this video, but my favorite performances from this tour were Kobijin (My most favorite song) and Friends.

    Thanks for the FULL Description!!!

About This Blog

This is increasingly not a blog about Alphabet City, New York. I used to live in the East Village and work on Avenue B, but I no longer do. Why don't I change the name if I'm writing about Japan and video games and guitars? Because New Yorkers are well-rounded people with varied interests, and mine have gone increasingly off the rails over the years. And I don't feel like changing the name. I do still write about New York City sometimes.
