Now Taking Requests

I'm gonna try a little experiment. I'm going to open my blog up to requests.

I've got a few sizable posts in the works right now that I think are probably going to end up kind of narrow in focus. So to balance it out, I may as well throw the doors wide open and ask you guys what you actually want to read here.

So! Pick a topic and I'll write about it. I don't care what it is, I like to think of myself as a well-rounded guy. I'll do my best with whatever you want to throw at me. History of Madagascar? You got it. Nuclear fusion? I'll give it a shot. Hannah Montana? What the hell.

(Any topic you've seen me write about before that you want more of is okay too.)

Just a couple rules:

1. You pick one topic and one topic only; I pick the angle.
2. I reserve the right to refuse overly personal, illegal or otherwise embarrassing subjects. Yes I realize that's a little arbitrary, but then it is still my blog. Everything else is fair game!

Given that I have about 150 readers per day and only about 1% of them ever leave a comment or send me an email, I'm not expecting a huge response - which means I can promise to honor every single request. Nope, not going to pick and choose! You give me a topic (rule #2 notwithstanding) and I will come up with something. I'm genuinely curious about what people want to read, but I'm also looking for a bit of a challenge. I'm hoping for some surprises.

Go ahead and try to stump me! I'm telling you it can't be done. I've got an opinion on everything, and I back those opinions up with facts. Facts!

Either leave a comment here or email me if you're shy. Depending on how difficult this ends up being, I'll start posting these sometime next week. I'm not expecting to have to do too many, although you never know if someone's gonna digg this post as a joke. It's the internet, after all.

About This Blog

This is increasingly not a blog about Alphabet City, New York. I used to live in the East Village and work on Avenue B, but I no longer do. Why don't I change the name if I'm writing about Japan and video games and guitars? Because New Yorkers are well-rounded people with varied interests, and mine have gone increasingly off the rails over the years. And I don't feel like changing the name. I do still write about New York City sometimes.
